Today and in the future, the IDS SAS station automation system fulfils all requirements on efficiency, interoperability and an open system structure. A uniform and consistent tool for engineering, parameterisation and documentation supports the efficient engineering both of IEC 60870-5-101/103/104 and of IEC 61850 systems.
The use of application-specific standards and established transmission technology based on Ethernet (IDS SAS with IEC 60870-5-104 or IEC 61850) helps to reduce the costs of investments.
IDS has a comprehensive communications portfolio and extensive knowledge in the field of telecommunications protocols and is therefore able to ensure interoperable connections between devices and systems, both via proprietary interfaces and via IEC 61850 interface. Thanks to its flexible and freely scalable concept, IDS SAS is able to satisfy a wide range of operator requirements, even with IEC 61850 functionality.
